Just when you thought 2021 was possibly going to be quite uneventful, up pops mass shootings and riots. It's OK, though, because, as long as you display a big flag in the background of your Zoom call, you'll be fine to still live in the country.
We're talking about the phenomenon of flagshaggers: people who love the flag so much they feel compelled to show it to display just how patriotic they are. It doesn't matter whether you're doing anything to eradicate poverty or helping your fellow citizens in some way; as long as you show the flag, you're alright.
